UMMUL QURA MASJID
The Ummul Qura Mosque, located in Pinangode, Wayanad district, is a striking representation of modern Islamic architecture and innovative structural engineering. Designed around an impressive 18-meter column-free steel structure, the main prayer hall completely eliminates internal pillars, maximizing floor capacity and offering an unobstructed view toward the mihrab for large congregations.
Complementing this spacious interior is an exterior featuring a standalone 20-meter minaret built entirely of steel, creating a distinct modern landmark. The facade incorporates Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) jalis, which enhance the aesthetic appeal while providing natural ventilation, diffusing direct sunlight, and minimizing solar heat gain. Combined with its beautifully finished interior and thoughtful multi-level layout, the mosque seamlessly balances high structural functionality with elegant architectural design.
